About Brooke
Growing up in Augusta, Georgia, Brooke’s childhood summers were filled with catching lightning bugs, fishing with her family, and picking vegetables from the garden. Some of her favorite memories were made at her grandmother’s house where she made mud pies, played with frogs, and jumped on the trampoline for hours each day. She also has wonderful memories of long weekend trips to Beaufort, SC where she fell in love with catching blue crabs, fresh shrimp, and soaking up sunsets framed by the marsh.
After graduating from high school, Brooke spent four busy years at the University of Georgia to earn her Bachelor of Sciences in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Her degree offered a wide variety of curriculum from cooking labs to real estate to consumer marketing.
Upon graduation, she moved to Atlanta where she began her real estate career selling homes in intown neighborhoods. Being a Realtor requires the ability to wear many hats at one time and Brooke found she enjoyed the marketing aspects the most. She created an active blog focused on Atlanta real estate trends, used Twitter to successfully recruit new clients, and developed a class for first time home buyers.
In 2021, her family relocated to Hilton Head Island, SC seeking a slower pace of life and greater access to the water. Many people move to the Lowcountry to be close to the beach but the marsh is what summoned Brooke. She loves picking oysters, fishing with her friends, and taking in sunsets along the tidal creeks surrounding the island.
Brooke visited Hilton Head many times before becoming a resident. From high school spring break to bachelorette parties to vacations with her family, she recognizes and appreciates the unique marketing opportunities available to both groups and understands how they overlap as well. Her southern roots, knowledge of local seafood, and a strong connection to the Lowcountry allow her to easily share that love through writing, content creation, and her interaction with others.
Brooke has a strong desire to learn and experience as much as she can at Hilton Head. From trying new restaurants, attending various events, understanding local history, following content from island businesses, and getting out in nature, she strives to keep a pulse on what's happening on the island. She shares her findings and photography with her followers at @hifromhhi on Instagram.
